A cow’s dream bed is made out of recycled tires

We all know how having a good night’s sleep positively helps us the next day. It’s important for cows to sleep well too, for optimum health and productivity.
At the Caseydale Farm in Hants County, Nova Scotia, they’ve discovered an environmentally-friendly solution for their 100 cows to get their forty winks.
They have discovered that their cows love to sleep on mats stuffed with pieces of recycled rubber tires. The sturdy rubber pieces conform to their body types and weight without being too firm or soft, allowing the cows to get the most out of their downtime.
By re-using tires instead of foam or other materials, they are lessening the farm’s overall impact on the environment; and as providers of fresh wholesome milk, Caseydale Farm is always looking at how the things they do now can positively affect future generations.
